About five years ago, I decided to launch a blog. It happened during a significant moment: I had just moved out of my parent’s house for the first time in my life. Where to? New York. Midtown Manhattan, to be precise. This was not only a whole new world but also a major transition for me.
I’m a creative soul. I love anything and everything that allows me to express myself artistically. Whether it’s painting, writing, or just doodling, I find that creating something from scratch is one of the most fulfilling things in the world.
I felt alone, lost, and confused. I noticed how twisted the perception you have about yourself can get. Every bump in the road worsens your exhaustion, and you start feeling unworthy. I can write endlessly about difficult times, but I also want to share how I began to recover.
I returned to New York on May 4, 2021—Star Wars Day, a date I once thought of as nothing more than a fun cultural reference. Little did I know that the months following that return would be some of the most difficult, painful, and confusing of my life.
Thank you to all the women who have helped me forge and strengthen my values and beliefs about the justice that has been owed to women for centuries.
